An overturned truck on Interstate 287 in the Piscataway area has been cleared but long delays remain in both directions.

The highway is reopened at Exit 9 southbound but delays of at least 10 miles in either direction remain.

Southbound traffic that had been diverted onto Route 18 is causing delays locally as are drivers looking to get around the delay.

New Jersey 101.5 Fast Traffic'sBob Williams reports the truck involved was a welding truck that flipped several times, scattering its contents on the road. Several cars were also involved.

Several people injured have been taken to area hostpitals.
