ROBBINSVILLE —  An overturned load of construction equipment on the New Jersey Turnpike closed the road Wednesday morning.

A trailer overturned in the outer lanes on the southbound side south of exit 8 for Route 33 just before 10 a.m., spilling several Bobcats onto the road, according to State Police spokesman trooper Alejandro Goez.

Goez said the cab of the truck remained upright and the driver was not injured. Ge said no other vehicle was involved in the crash and an investigation is underway into the cause.

The crash and cleanup caused a multi-mile delay as all lanes were closed, with traffic squeezing by on the shoulder, according to New Jersey Fast Traffic. All lanes reopened around 12:45 p.m.
