Overdue NJ Hiker Found Safe In Vermont
A missing hiker is safe after getting lost on Vermont’s Mount Mansfield.
Multiple agencies joined in the search for 20-year-old Steve Teshima of Montvale on Tuesday night, after state police got word he had set out for a hike from Cambridge that morning and hadn’t returned by nightfall.
He last spoke with friends by phone on Tuesday afternoon and didn’t indicate he was in distress at that time.
Rescuers searched for Teshima near the summit and around the Stowe Ski Resort, where he had been earlier Tuesday.
Teshima walked out of the woods three miles away from the summit just before 1 a.m. Wednesday. He was cold, but he wasn’t hurt.
