GARFIELD  — Transit authorities say a train collided with a bus, with one person being treated for an injury not believed to be life-threatening.

New Jersey Transit officials said in a statement that a train on the Bergen County line that was on its way from Middletown, New York to Hoboken collided with a bus in Garfield shortly before 5 p.m. Monday.

Officials said the New Jersey Transit bus under contract by Community Coach had 15 passengers. Initial reports indicated one person was being treated for an injury, and preliminary reports were that the injury wasn't life-threatening.

Transit officials said none of the approximately 100 people on the train reported any injuries.

Service on the Bergen County line was suspended in both directions, with bus service being provided.
