Highest temperatures yesterday reached the mid to upper 90s, and locally near 100.

Newark Liberty Airport tied the record set back in 1997 of 100.  Atlantic City International Airport broke the record set in 2006 of 97, when they reached 99.  It was another very hot and humid day.

But there will be one more left today with highs in the mid to upper 90s with an outside chance of 100, and some relief at the beach.  That will be before we have gusty thunderstorms, at some point, this afternoon and this evening.

Some thunderstorms this evening will give way to showers overnight with lows back in the 70s.

Some showers around tomorrow, particularly in Central and Southern counties, with highs mostly in the 80s, but cooler tomorrow near the ocean.

Rain seems likely on Friday and much cooler temps with some lows holding in the 70s.  I know the weather service is going for low to mid 80s in spots on Friday.  Unless there's no rain in North Jersey, I think those numbers are a bit too high.

Saturday should start to dry out and improve.  Sunday looks okay from here.
