One dead after three-vehicle crash on New Jersey Turnpike

LINDEN -- State police say one person was killed and several others were injured in a multi-vehicle accident along the New Jersey Turnpike that involved a tractor-trailer.

The crash happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday just south of Interchange 13 on the northbound side of the highway in Linden. Three vehicles were reportedly involved.

Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams says one person was killed and another victim is at University Hospital in Newark in serious condition.

Details regarding the circumstances of the crash and additional information on the victims were not immediately available.

Two lanes were shut down as state police investigated the accident.
