Old Bridge man, 30, kills his mother in their home, police say

OLD BRIDGE — A Middlesex County man was charged with killing his mother during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said Patricia Polera, 61, died from asphyxiation by compression at the hand of her son Frank Polera, 30. The incident took place in their home on Kirschman Drive in Old Bridge on Saturday, according to authorities. Police were called to the home around 8:45 p.m. and found Patricia already dead.

Frank was charged with one count of murder, according to Carey.
