U.S. officials say a small number of State Department personnel in Brussels are unaccounted for since the deadly airport and subway attacks.

The officials say they don't know the status of the Americans and are trying to find out. The U.S. is still waiting for more information from Belgian authorities on those killed or hospitalized by Tuesday's bombings.

The officials weren't authorized to speak on the matter and demanded anonymity.

Earlier, State Department spokesman Mark Toner said about a dozen U.S. citizens were known to be injured. A number of other Americans remain unaccounted for.

Toner said the U.S. had no information about any Americans killed.

At least 34 people were killed and more than 200 wounded in the attacks.
