Band parent Mary Beth Nunziante was interviewed on New Jersey 101.5 by Townsquare Media's Eric Scott Friday morning and described how parents and other band supporters had turned out Thursday night to show support for the Marching Mustangs.

Joining the parents, some of whom held signs, were Brick Schools Superintendent Walter Uszenski and Memorial High School principal Jennifer Joseph, Nunziante said.

"Thank God our superintendent and the principal and a few other administrators were there to see us and answer any of our questions," said Nunziante. Parents are also  exploring the possibility of applying for a noise variance to head off future disruptions, she said.

The latest dispute began Tuesday night when Brick police responded to a noise complaint from an unidentified neighbor and ordered the band to end its rehearsal in the school's parking lot.

Uszenski and Brick Police Chief Nils Bergquist then restated an existing arrangement in which the band normally alternates practice between the parking lot and the school's football field. They explained that a scheduled scrimmage on the football field Tuesday had forced the band to use the parking lot a second consecutive evening, triggering the new complaints.
