I'm not big on New Year's resolutions but this year I did it. I made the promise that every Friday, we will honor one police officer who went above and beyond the call of duty. Fridays will be known as #Blue Friday.

Our first honoree is Officer James Reynolds from Jackson Township Police Dept. Officer Reynolds arrived on the scene of an elderly woman who used her life alert to call for help. The elderly woman couldn't make food for herself in order to take her medicine. Officer Reynolds not only made her dinner so she could take the medicine but he also set her coffee pot up so she would have coffee the next morning.

That effort goes above and beyond any expectations and needs to be recognized. A very special thank you goes out to Officer Reynolds and we are proud to make him the first #BlueFriday honoree.

In case you missed it, below is the video of  Lt. Gov Kin Guadagno and myself introducing the concept of #BlueFriday.
