In the :35 second ad, a narrator asks, “Are the president’s kids more important than yours? Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school?”

The NRA proposed armed guards being posted in schools in their first response to the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” the group’s top lobbyist, Wayne LaPierre, said at a Washington news conference a week after the shooting.

The NRA also expressed disappointment with their discussions with Vice President Joe Biden’s task force on gun violence. “We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be ‘prejudged,’ this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners – honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans,” said the NRA in a statement.
