PARSIPPANY — A former township scout leader was convicted on child porn charges and will now await a second trial for allegedly sexually abusing three former Boy Scouts more than 10 years ago.

Stephen Corcoran, 49, was convicted on 10 counts of endangering the welfare of a child after he was found to have a thumb drive with child pornography stored on it. He was also found guilty of exhibiting or showing child pornography to someone else.

According to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, the investigation into Corcoran started in 2011.

Corcoran is scheduled to be sentenced on June 2. He will face a separate trial for the sexual abuse charges that stem from incidents in the 1990s involving former Scouts. The jury in this case was not told about the other pending charges.
