A North Arlington man was arrested for biting a child on the leg.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office says North Arlington Police were notified on Tuesday by school officials that a student reported being bitten by David M. Bell, 39. An investigation led to Bell's arrest on one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

The circumstances of the bite and the child's relationship to Bell were not disclosed by the prosecutor's office.

Bell posted $50,000 bail and released on bail pending an arraignment on October 8.

He was ordered not to have contact with the child and had to surrender his passport.
