Dental records will be needed to determine whether a body found in the Delaware River is that of a man who went missing during a rafting trip last weekend.

The body was found Tuesday afternoon in Frenchtown, more than 35 miles downriver from where Gary West Jr. went missing. Authorities say it matched a description of West, including his clothing, but an autopsy failed to confirm the drowned man's identity.

The 38-year-old Summit resident went missing after his inflatable raft overturned June 29. Authorities have said West and his 14-year-old daughter were on a group trip when their rafts overturned in very rough water.

The teen suffered minor injuries before reaching land, but the other group members couldn't find her father. The group had embarked from a campground in Knowlton.
