No Fare Increases On Tap For NJ Transit
The head of NJ Transit says rail and bus riders will see no fare increases in the coming year.
Executive Director Jim Weinstein says the transit agency plans to keep fares from rising for the fourth straight year.
NJ Transit's proposed budget for the 12 months starting July 1 is being reviewed by the Senate Budget Committee.
Weinstein says two-thirds of the 70 locomotives damaged during Superstorm Sandy have been returned to service, but fewer than half of the 272 flooded rail cars have been repaired.
