OCEAN TOWNSHIP (Monmouth County) — A woman who was going to the records bureau at police headquarters on Monday morning was arrested after overdosing in the department's bathroom, authorities said.

According to police, 36-year-old Long Branch resident Amy M. Mauer overdosed after ingesting heroin. Police were notified after a department employee said the woman was "incoherent" in the bathroom.

Police said Mauer was given three doses of the overdose drug Narcan before she was revived.

Mauer was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons for a future court date and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for further treatment.
