Police said the 60-year-old woman from the Fords section was trying to park in the rear lot of 201 New Brunswick Ave.

The woman, whose identity was not disclosed, stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake.

The woman jumped the curb, hit a retaining wall, landscaping and two parked vehicles before slamming into the side of EZ Wheels Driving School in the township's Hopelawn section.

The impact ripped a gas meter off the wall, which caused a gas leak and the evacuation of several buildings. A firefighter injured his ankle responding to the incident.

The driver was not injured and was issued a summons for careless driving, according to police.
