NJ woman found tied to train tracks, burned in Massachusetts
A burned body found tied to railroad tracks in southeastern Massachusetts has been identified as that of a woman from New Jersey.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a statement the body, which was discovered on Tuesday night, was identified as Ashley Bortner, 29, of Paulsboro.
The body was first found on Tuesday after Bridgewater, Massachusetts police found a burning body on the MBTA commuter tracks with the hands tied behind the victim's and the feet tied together according to Cruz. Police had received a call about a suspicious vehicle, said Cruz, along an rural stretch of the railroad track. Bridgewater is located south of Boston.
Investigators determined that Bortner was purposely targeted, according to Cruz.
