A person was struck and killed on the NJ Transit's Atlantic City line on Wednesday, which resulted in the closing of the route during the morning commute.

NJ Transit spokeswoman Lisa Torbic said the person was struck around 8 a.m. by train No. 4613, which left Philadelphia at 6:31 a.m. with 100 people on board headed to Atlantic City.  No one on board was injured by the incident.

Torbic said the person, whose identity she could not disclose, stepped in front of the train as it approached the Garden State Parkway in Galloway.

NJ Transit set up alternative bus service between Egg Harbor and Atlantic City.
