Amtrak signal problems caused big delays for NJ Transit riders on Tuesday morning into mid-day.

NJ Transit said riders on the Northeast Corridor had 2-hour delays between Newark Penn Station and Trenton with the North Jersey Coast Line having unspecified delays as well.

Amtrak spokesman Craig Schultz said in an email the the signal problem had been repaired by 11 a.m. and delays should begin to ease.

NJ Transit said its buses and private carriers are cross honoring to try to relieve the delays.
