FLORENCE  — A township street is on lockdown as police conduct their second manhunt this week for an "armed and dangerous" suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing dark clothing and long pants with a towel wrapped around his head. Authorities did not describe the towel.

According to an alert from Florence police, West Front Street was closed between Woodlawn Avenue and Bodine Street for the search. The road was reopened early afternoon.

Although there is no school in the immediate area of the closure, Florence schools were briefly on lockdown Friday morning.

Florence police on Tuesday night urged residents to stay indoors as they searched for stabbing suspect Akil Herbert.  He was captured at his home the next morning.
