BOONTON — First responders rescued a 13-year-old boy who fell down a 30-foot cliff Sunday near the Rockaway River, according to reports.

Boonton authorities told NJ.com that the teen contacted police at about 10:49 a.m. after he and his friends were walking in the woods when he slipped on wet ground and slid, landing about 30 feet from the water.

Rescue workers used a basket and ropes to pull the teen to safety and he is being treated for undisclosed injuries, according to the report.
