The 17-year-old Linden boy was arrested Wednesday and was also charged with weapons offenses.

Police tell The Star-Ledger he shot five rounds around 11 p.m. Saturday in Roselle, twice hitting a 20-year-old man in the back. The man has since been released from a hospital.

The name of the suspect has not been released because of his age. He is being held in the Union County juvenile detention center.
