TRENTON — A South Jersey teacher accused of "upskirting" students has turned in his teaching credentials.

Adam Mayr, 39, was charged by the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office in 2015 for taking pictures of the private areas of two dozen students at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology in Deptford, where he was an English teacher.

NJ.com reported that the criminal complaint alleged Mayr recorded students for two years.

Students reported Mayr to school officials who then contacted police.

He was indicted this month on 24 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, invasion of privacy and official misconduct

Mayr, who lives in Gloucester County's Washington Township, will turn in his Teacher of English Certificate of Eligibility he received in 2002 and a Teacher of English certificate earned in March 2003, according to a decision posted by the State Board of Examiners, which licenses teachers.
