NJ senators announce $3.6M in airport grants
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Three New Jersey airports will get more than $3 million in federal grants for various improvements.
Sens. Robert Menendez and Cory Booker announced the Transportation Department grants on Friday.
Newark Liberty International Airport will get the largest grant, receiving $3.4 million for the building of a new apron that will provide additional parking for aircraft.
Essex County Airport in Fairfield will get $200,000 to go toward removing obstructions on two runways. Atlantic City International Airport will get $39,000 to update its master plan to identify future needs.
