The Division of Consumer Affairs announced Thursday that the deadline is extended until Feb. 1 for charities, fundraisers, and fundraising counsel to file required paperwork under the State's Charities Registration and Investigation Act.

Only registrants located in disaster-affected counties are eligible for the extension. A list of the counties and the requirements for applying for an extension are on the FEMA website.

The extensions follow the same rules as those recently granted by the Internal Revenue Service for storm-affected residents.
