Barbeques, boating and fireworks.  New Jersey residents are getting ready for a fun-filled 4th of July.

You've stocked up on barbeque food, including hamburgers and hot dogs and of course the drinks (alcoholic or non) and are ready to spend some quality time with family and friends.

"I'm heading to Atlantic City" said one woman stopping at a store in Ocean County.

"Long Beach Island, we're taking the kids to go to the beach for the day and spend some time with their grandparents" said a family along the Parkway.

"Grilling, spending time with the family, probably go boating in Barnegat Bay at some point" said a man from Toms River.

"I'm going to attend one of the many parades that are taking place around the state and celebrate America's birthday."

There's certainly no shortage of Jersey shore destinations to visit, and of course, any place to cool off tops the list.

"I'm going boogie-boarding"  said one teen.  "I will be swimming all weekend" said another girl.

Many people have hit the road already and could care less about gas prices or expenses.

"I'm just having a good time, enjoying the sun" said another man from Brick.

"Gas prices are down so its time to head to the beach" said one woman.

Still, some people would prefer to avoid the crowds and traffic the holiday brings to the shore area.

"Stay away from the Parkway and in the air-conditioning" said a man from Jackson.
