A rescue group in Tenafly is spearheading adoptions for 25 cats and dogs from Louisiana.

According to News 12 New Jersey, Pet ResQ Inc. will place the animals in foster care until permanent homes can be found for them. The public will be able to meet some of the animals on Oct. 16 during Woofstock 2016 at Municipal Circle Park in Tenafly.

The rescue group worked in conjunction with the Humane Society of Louisiana and Dog People of Livingston Parish to get the pets transported to New Jersey, according to a Facebook post by Pet ResQ.

The pets were surrendered or abandoned by their owners after extreme floods devastated the area.

You can learn more at Pet ResQ's website about the animals up for adoption.
