Several thousand people are in the dark in New Jersey on Saturday morning. This post will be updated frequently throughout the day Saturday.

8:10 p.m.:

With the flakes continuing to fly and the winds continuing to howl the state’s major utilities are reporting 49,501 outages across the Garden State at this hour.

Atlantic City Electric has a total of 28,209 outages. More than half (18,571) are in Cape May County. Avalon Borough has 5,788 outages, North Wildwood has 4,187 and Stone Harbor Borough has 3,362.

Ocean City has 5,390 customers without service. Stafford Township has 2,562, Little Egg Harbor has 1,364 and Tuckerton Borough has 667 outages.

In Atlantic County, there are 2,493 outages.

Burlington County has 1,244 outages.

JCP&L is dealing with 19,538 outages. Ocean County accounts for 15,375, including almost 11,000 in Toms River. Island Heights (1,083) Lacey (966) and Ocean Gate Borought (737) have also been impacted heavily.

There are 1,770 outages in Monmouth County.

PSE&G reports 748 outages, most of them in Burlington County.

Atlantic City Electric and JCP&L say many outages in South Jersey and along the coast may not be restored until tomorrow because high winds and flooded areas are making it tough for repair crews. By law, bucket crews cannot work until gusts drop below 40 mph.

7:10 p.m.:

As the snow continues to pile up there are 49,501 outages being reported in New Jersey at this hour.

Atlantic City Electric has a total of 28,226 outages. More than half (18,473) are in Cape May County. Avalon Borough has 5788 outages and Sea Isle City has 1,126.

Stafford has 2,561 and Little Egg Harbor has 1,360.

In Atlantic County, there are 2,578 outages.

Burlington County has 1,244 outages.

JCP&L is dealing with 20,532 outages. Ocean County accounts for 16,075, including about 9,500 in Toms River. Island Heights (1,083), Lacey (960) and Beachwood (887) have also been impacted heavily.

There are 1,774 outages in Monmouth County. Hard-hit communities include Ocean Township (418).

PSE&G reports 743 outages, 700 of them in Burlington County.

6:10 p.m.:

Atlantic City Electric has a total of 30,414 outages. More than half (18,408) are in Cape May County. North Wildwood has 4,188 outages and Sea Isle City has 1,113.

Ocean City has 6,064 customers off-line, Little Egg Harbor has 2,813, Beach Haven has 1,067, while Stafford has 796.

In Atlantic County, there are 4,035 outages.

Burlington County has 1,235 outages and most are in Bass River Township (1,148)

JCP&L is dealing with 25,094 outages. Ocean County accounts for 20,306, including about 9,800 in Toms River. Also hard-hit: Lacey (4,188), Island Heights (1,083) Beachwood (887) and Ocean Township (411).

There are 2,431 outages in Monmouth County. Hard-hit communities include Ocean Township (413), Asbury Park City (588) and Spring Lake Heights (375)

PSE&G is only reporting 67 outages scattered around their coverage territory.

5:10 p.m.:

As the nasty nor’easter continues, there are 57,245 outages being reported across New Jersey.

Atlantic City Electric has a total of 30,518 outages. More than half (19,316) are in Cape May County. North Wildwood City has 4,187 outages, Stone Harbor Borough has 3,383 and Sea Isle City has 1066.

Ocean City has 5,987 customers off-line, Little Egg Harbor has 2,743, Beach Haven has 1,067, while Stafford has 812.

In Atlantic County, there are 3,087 outages.

Burlington County has 1,213 outages, and most are in Bass River Township (1,148)

JCP&L is dealing with 26,622 outages. Ocean County accounts for 23,293, including about 11,500 in Toms River. Other towns that are seeing significant outages include,  Lacey (5,223), Island Heights (1,083), Beachwood (887), Ocean Township (414) and Seaside Park (322).

There are 2,846 outages in Monmouth County. Hardest-hit communities are Ocean Township (436) and Asbury Park City (459).

Both AC Electric and JCP&L say many outages down the shore not be restored until early tomorrow morning because of flooding and winds that continue to gust above 40 mph. By law, bucket crews cannot work until gusts drop below 40 mph.

PSE&G is dealing with only 105 outages scattered around their coverage territory.

As of 3:10 p.m.:

As the blizzard of 2016 continues, there are 47,553 outages being reported across the Garden State.  Atlantic City Electric has a total of 32,000 outages. Nearly half (19,739) are in Cape May County. Ocean City has the most with 5,987 customers out.

In Atlantic County, there are 4,658 outages, with 639 in Pleasantville. There are more than 1,100 outages in Bass River Township in Burlington County.

JCP&L is dealing with 17,574 outages. Ocean County accounts for 13,373, including about 8,000 in Toms River. Also hard hit is Lacey Township at 2,016 and Beachwood with 887.

There are 4,161 outages in Monmouth County. Hardest hit communities are Avon-by-the Sea (722), Ocean Township (435), and Asbury Park City (378).

Crews are assessing damaged lines and transformers. Representatives of both AC Electric and JCP&L said many outages along the coast may not be restored until early tomorrow morning when wind gusts are expected to die down. By law, bucket crews cannot work because of safety concerns when winds are gusting more than 40 mph. Additionally, repair crews have been having difficulty restoring areas that are flooded, and in many cases they’ll have to wait until flood waters recede to make necessary repairs.

PSE&G is dealing with only 149 outages.

As of 2:10 p.m.:

The outages have dropped significantly since 1 p.m.  Now, there's about 60,000 customers in New Jersey without power. JCP&L has a total of 25,520 outages, with the hardest hit areas remaining in Ocean County. Atlantic City Electric is dealing with 34,481 outages, 18,925 of those in Cape May County.

Toms River has seen its numbers drop from about 12,000 down to 8,734 outages. Seaside Park has 2,681. In Monmouth County, there are 7,205 customers without power. Some of the hardest hit areas include Ocean Township and Avon-by-the-Sea.

Atlantic County is dealing with about 4,400 outages.

PSE&G continue to only contend with scattered outages across their coverage territory.

As of 1:10 p.m.:

There's almost 80,000 outages reported around the state, with about half in Ocean County.

JCP&L is dealing with 35,000 outages. Ocean County accounts for 26,000, including about 12,000 in Toms River — a quarter of the township is impacted. Also hard-hit: Lacey (3,400), Berkley Township (2,600), Seaside Park (2,600) and Brick (2,000).

There are 7,000 outages in Monmouth County. Hardest-hit communities are Ocean Township (1,500), Avon by the Sea (1,400) and Neptune (1,300)

There's also a pocket in Union County, with outages in Springfield (200).

Crews are assessing damage, and have no restoration time estimates at this point.

Atlantic City Electric is dealing with 40,000 outages. Nearly half (19,000) are in Cape May County. Ocean County has almost 12,000. Little Egg Harbor (4,600), Stafford (3,500), Tuckerton (1,900) and Beach Haven (1,000) are hardest hit. In Atlantic County, there's 6,000 outages, with nearly half in Pleasantville (2,700). There are more than 1,000 outages in Bass River township (Burlington County).

PSE&G still is dealing with scattered outages, including a few dozen in Hopewell.

As of 12:10 p.m.:

JCP&L has more than 44,000 outages. Ocean County accounts for 36,000 with about 15,000 in Toms River. That's about a third of the township. Lacey has about 7,000 outages, Brick has about 5,000 and Berkeley Township is close to 2,000. Monmouth County has about 7,000 outages, with the hardest-hit areas being Ocean Township, Neptune and Avon by the Sea.  The utility company says they are assessing damage and "will provide estimated restoration times when they are available."

Atlantic City Electric has over 41,000 outages. 22,000 of them are in Cape May County. Ocean County is dealing with 10,000, with about half of those in Little Egg Harbor. Stafford and Tuckerton are among hardest hit. In Atlantic County there are 9,000 outages and over 1,000 outages in Bass River township (Burlington County)-

PSEG is dealing with scattered outages, including in Hopewell.

As of 11:10 am:

JCP&L is dealing with 49,000 outages.  Ocean County accounts for 39,000- among hardest hit are Island Heights and Forked River.  Monmouth county makes up the rest with 10,000 outages.

Atlantic City Electric has about 45,000 outages. Over 24,000 are in Cape May County. 9,000 are in Ocean County-among hardest hit are still Tuckerton to Manahawkin. In Atlantic County there are just under 10,000 outages.

PSEG is dealing with scattered outages, including in Perth Amboy.

As of 10:10 am:  

JCP&L was dealing with 45,000 outages.  Ocean County accounts for most, with about 38,000.  Hard hit areas include Island Heights, and parts of Toms River and Seaside Park.

Atlantic City Electric was handling 45,000 outages.  Cape May remained the hardest hit, with about 21,000.  About 11,000 outages were in Ocean County, with a large pocket from Tuckerton to Manahawkin.  Another 11,000 of them were in Atlantic County.

PSEG had a couple hundred outages in Perth Amboy.

As of 9:10 a.m.:

JCP&L was seeing a jump in outages, up to 53,000, with about 49,000 in Ocean County alone.

Atlantic City Electric also saw severe outages — 36-thousand outages, with the most (21,000) in Cape May County, and another 9,000 in Atlantic County

PSEG was still doing well, with just a few scattered outages.

As of 8:30 a.m.:

South Jersey was hard hit with more 41,000 customers without power, mostly in Cape May County, according to Atlantic City Electric.

There were also major outages reported in Atlantic County and Ocean County, where the most outages are reported in Little Egg Harbor Township and Barnegat.

According to the JCP&L outage map at 8 a.m. just over 22,355 customers were wilthout power, mostly in Lacey Township and Toms River.

PSE&G was holding its own with only a handful of outages showing on its map.

The utilities urge those without power to let them know. However, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno noted on Bill Spadea's New Jersey 101.5 show Friday morning repair crews that need to go up onto a pole will not be able to until winds are less than 40 mph, for their own safety.

The utilities also urge you to stay away from any downed wires.
