MONTCLAIR — This township's police union says a hacker is to blame for recent posts on its Facebook page that appeared to celebrate Donald Trump's election.

Montclair Police Benevolent Association Local 53 on Thursday wrote that "the page was hacked and unauthorized access was made." The union says the posts were not made by the PBA local and have been removed.

A post on Monday showed a police officer running and said: "Guys!! Trump Won!! We Get To Be Cops Again!!!"

A second post said "unfortunately it appears that many chose to conclude what THEY believe the post stood for." It listed the number of police officers killed in the line of duty from 2010 to 2016.

The union says there have never been political posts on its page.
