Help Beauty, Duchess, and Sinbad Find Homes [NJ Pets of the Week]

NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League and Sammy’s Hope to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes.

Help us find these pets homes by sharing this info with family members, friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Duchess

Poor, sweet, and sad Duchess. She was given up because her former caretaker could no longer care for her. He worked long hours and wasn't home enough for her. She is a gentle 4-year-old who very much acts like a puppy. She is a little shy with people initially, but then wants to be your constant companion after she has a minute to warm up to you. She is always at her foster mom's heels. Duchess loves dogs and will completely light up and go straight into play mode when she sees them.

She is currently sharing her home with two small dogs, three rabbits and two adults. Duchess loves everyone in her foster home, including the bunnies. We think she is cat-friendly, since she gets along fine with the rabbits, but has not been formally tested. Duchess is completely house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and knows some basic obedience. She loves to entertain herself with dog chews or just lay around and look at her foster family longingly. Duchess seems so thankful to be out of the shelter and would love to have her forever home.

Adopt Beauty

Beauty lives up to her name and then some. She has a gorgeous reddish brown coat and loves to give and get kisses. She can be reactive around other dogs in close proximity, but is otherwise a very good walker and gentle treat taker. She's great with children as well. Come visit her at the Edison Shelter.

Adopt Sinbad

Sinbad is a ladies man extra extraordinaire. With his beautiful tuxedo coat and black mask, he appears to be a man of mystery but the truth is, there is no mystery to Sinbad. He loves everyone he meets! Sinbad enjoyed the first 9 years of his life in a comfortable home where he was loved but life circumstances forced his people to move and they were unable to bring Sinbad with them. Sinbad is neutered, current with his shots and front declawed. He is guaranteed to be a welcome addition to your home and will always act the perfect gentlemen.

• FUNDRAISER: NJ Aid for Animals has partnered with Gallery Eleven One to host a live art  fundraiser Thursday, July 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gallery Eleven One on 339 N. Front Street in Camden.  Tickets cost $25 and attendees can enjoy an open wine bar, hors d'oeuvres, live jazz and a live art demonstration from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. To reserve a spot, call (856) 728-0911 or email info@njafa.org.
