A native of Cinnaminson, NJ Steve Kasprzyk did not start rowing until his freshman year at Drexel University in 2000. Kasprzyk and a friend decided to go to a rowing meeting to find out more about the sport. Thirteen years later Kasprsyk qualified for his first Olympic games by placing first in the 2012 Men’s Eight Final Olympic Qualification Regatta. Kasprzyk has spent four years on the national rowing team: 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2012.

Kasprzyk will compete in his first Olympics as a member of the U.S. Men’s Eight Boat.

OLYMPIC UPDATE: Kasprzyk's boat qualified for the Men's Eight finals but failed to earn a medal, as they finished .30 seconds off the medal stand in 4th.
