Two-time Olympic athlete Rachel Dawson was born in Berlin, NJ and graduated from field hockey powerhouse Eastern High School in 2003.

Dawson accumulated a decorated career at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill as a field hockey player.

In 2004 Dawson was named a first-team All-American and the year after, was named to the women’s national field hockey team. During Dawson’s senior season in 2007, she was named the Honda Award winner for the National Player of the year in field hockey as well a finalist for the Honda-Broderick Cup as the nation's top college female athlete.

Rachel Dawson will compete as a midfield for the United States field hockey team. This will be her second Olympics. Dawson also competed for the U.S. team in 2008.

OLYMPIC UPDATE: The United States finished a disappointing 1-4 in group play and failed to qualify for the medal rounds.
