National Field Hockey team member Michelle Vittese was born in Cherry Hill, NJ and graduated from Camden Catholic High School in 2008.

Vittese accepted a scholarship to play field hockey at powerhouse University of Virginia. In a decision that showed her dedication to making the 2012 Olympic team, Vittese took an Olympic redshirt during the 2011-2012 school year (her senior year) in order to focus on training for the Olympic team.

Her hard work paid off, as in June she was named to the U.S. National Field Hockey team.

The 2012 will be Vittese’s first Olympic games on the U.S. Women’s National Field Hockey Team.

OLYMPIC UPDATE: The United States finished a disappointing 1-4 in group play and failed to qualify for the medal rounds.
