A New Jersey man wowed all four judges on NBC's "The Voice" Monday night, belting out a pitch-perfect rendition of a Whitesnake song that earned him a spot in the next round of the singing competition.

Almost immediate after Manny Cabo, 45, of Elizabeth began singing "Here I Go Again," Judge Adam Levine turned his chair around, as his family members hugged each other tearfully backstage. The other judges - Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams followed suit. His performance was part of the "blind audition" which is the first of five phases of the contest.

"I've got a feeling this guy's done this before," Shelton joked following Cabo's performance.

Levine, the frontman for the band Maroon 5, seemed equally excited about the self-proclaimed "East Coast boy's" performance.

"Hearing you sing the crap out of that song, specifically, ignites me because that's where I come from," Levine said. "The power of what you do, the presence of how you perform, it's shocking to hear that you're 45 years old because you sound 20, you look 20, you act 20."

Cabo, called the experience amazing, saying he "I got four icons staring at me." But ultimately, the NJ man chose to be on "Team Adam."

The Voice, according to the show's website, features five stages of competition, the first being the blind auditions, during which the music coaches make decisions based solely on the singer's voice, rather than looks. If a coach likes a performer's sound he/she will turn their chair around. If multiple coaches turn around the singer will decide which coach's team to join.

The blind auditions are followed by the battle rounds, the knockouts, the live playoffs and finally, the live performance shows.
