CLEMENTON — Police have arrested a 55-year-old man who was using his neighbor's internet connection to download and distribute more than 33,000 pornographic images and at least 700 videos of children.

Louis LaSalle of Woodmill Drive was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo said in a statement Monday.

Authorities say investigators from the Camden County Prosecutor Office High Tech Crimes unit and Gloucester Township police originally executed a search warrant at another residence on the same street on Sept. 1 at 5:30 a.m. After interviewing the residents, however, detectives found that the people in the house were not involved in downloading the images and videos.

After further investigation, police say, it was discovered that the homeowners did not have their Wi-Fi password protected. Authorities found that LaSalle, a neighbor, was pirating the residents' internet.

According to the prosecutor's office, it was discovered that LaSalle was downloading and distributing pornographic photographs and videos of children. Police managed to connect his laptop to his neighbor's unprotected Wi-Fi and removed more than 33,000 pornographic images and more than 700 video's from LaSalle's computer, which was seized from his home.

LaSalle faces charges including third degree possession of child pornography and second degree distribution of child pornography. He is being held in Camden County Jail on $150,000 full cash bail.
