NJ man, cleaning gun, shoots himself in the face on Thanksgiving

A Parsippany man accidentally shot himself in the face while cleaning a firearm Thursday night, Parsippany Patch reports.

It wasn't immediately clear from the report how severe the man's injuries were. But the report said that when officers responded to the Ramada Limited hotel on Route 46 Thursday night, they spoke to the man, whose name they have not provided.

Officers gave medical aid to the victim, and he was transported to Morristown Medical Center by the Rockaway Neck Volunteer Ambulance Squad, the report said.

No charges have been filed at this time, according to the report.
