Murder charges have been filed against a northern New Jersey man who allegedly stabbed his father to death during a family dispute.

Bail was set at $1 million for 21-year-old Francisco Yrrizarris of Passaic, who also faces weapons charges.

The stabbing occurred early Sunday in the family's home. It was not clear what sparked the incident but authorities tell The Record (http://bit.ly/VfNJ8K) that the suspect and his 44-year-old father, Julian, had often argued.

Officers responded to the home after receiving a 911 call from the suspect's mother, who witnessed the stabbing. Francisco Yrrizarris had fled by the time police arrived, but he was found walking nearby a short time later.

'The father was taken to a hospital, where died later Sunday.
