A 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the Strangulation death of a 32-year-old Livingston woman, authorities said Tuesday.

Dwayne Birchler of West Orange was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of manslaughter, authorities said.

According to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray, Livingston police found Lindsay A. Ulyate in her home at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday. Authorities say the woman was unresponsive when they arrived. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:11 a.m., according to the prosecutor.

The Prosecutor's Office said in a statement Tuesday that an autopsy was conducted and as a result, her death was ruled a homicide. The medical examined determined the cause of death to be strangulation, authorities said.

The case is still being investigated by Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force.

"The investigation is active and ongoing. No other information is available at this time," the prosecutor said in a statement.

Authorities say Birchler is being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on $150,000 bail.
