In Hillsdale, things got ugly for a mailman the other day. He found himself trapped inside his work vehicle surrounded by aggressive, wild turkeys. It was so bad he had to call his supervisor, who then called the police.

We think of letter carriers as fending off dogs but Steve Doherty, spokesman for the USPS tells NJ.com, "There are all types of animals and wildlife we run into that people don't think about."

This had me picturing moose in Montana and grizzlies in Wyoming. But wild turkeys? Actually it's not the first time it's happened. Check out this video of a guy in Massachusetts who has to carry a keep-away stick with him on his mail route because of aggressive turkeys.
