NJ Indictment Claims Man Plotted Wife’s Murder
A New York man and a Massachusetts woman have been indicted in the fatal shooting of the man's wife in what was originally alleged to be a bias attack.
Kashif Parvaiz and Antoinette Stephen face murder, conspiracy and weapons charges in the killing of Nazish Noorani last August in Boonton, in northern New Jersey.
The 27-year-old Noorani was shot while walking with her husband, Parvaiz, and their 3-year-old son.
Parvaiz claimed their attackers called the Pakistani-American couple "terrorists." But authorities retrieved text messages that led them to believe Parvaiz and Stephen planned the attack.
Parvaiz is being held on $3 million bond and Stephen, of Billerica, Mass., on $5 million bond. His attorney didn't return a message seeking comment. Her attorney could not immediately be located.
