A technician at John F. Kennedy Medical Center has been arrested and charged for allegedly improperly touching a patient who was medicated and undergoing a heart monitoring test.

Kiritkuma C. Shah, of West Windsor was charged April 11 with one count of criminal sexual contact, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

Officials say Shah unzipped his pants and improperly touched a 45-year-old patient who was medicated and undergoing a heart monitoring test. The woman's daughter alerted the authorities after the March 16 incident in Edison.

Shah was dismissed from this job. He was an EKG technician at the hospital since 1996, officials say.
