A 26-year-old home health aide is accused of pawning stolen jewelry and is facing theft and possession charges, Egg Harbor Township police said.

Melissa Haugh, 26, of Little Egg Harbor Township was arrested Oct. 15 and charged with theft, possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property and theft by deception in Hammonton, police said.

The charges came after a detective noticed some suspicious pawn slips for jewelry and an investigation was launched.

Police determined that the pawned jewelry was stolen from an elderly victim in Haugh's care who's residence is in Hammonton.
