Prince is no exception. But one of the most bizarre memories of Prince may actually have been told years before his death by filmmaker Kevin Smith, the Red Bank native known for movies set in the Garden State.

Prince was a fan of Smith's 1999 "Dogma," and so invited Smith to work on a documentary for him.

The project never took off. But Smith got enough of a look into the peculiar world of Prince that when he was asked about it by an audience member at a public appearance some time later, Smith went on for more than half an hour.
