David Rebuck, director of the state Division of Gaming Enforcement, says New Jersey hopes to reach an agreement with one or two other states by late summer to offer what he calls a type of "Powerball for interstate slots play."

The arrangement would link slot machine jackpots in Atlantic City and other states to create bigger jackpots.

Rebuck says the added appeal of bigger jackpots could help bring additional customers to Atlantic City casinos.
