EDISON — A 29-year-old Hunterdon County man has been charged with the death of a 74-year-old man whose car was struck when the younger driver ran through a red light, prosecutors said.

Christopher Ravita, of Lebanon, was charged with death by auto after the early Saturday morning crash that claimed township resident Ronald Setlight.

Ravita was being treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Bail was set at $50,000.

Setlight was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after the crash.

Prosecutors said Setlight was driving his 2015 Honda Accord on Grandview Avenue about 3:15 a.m. when Ravita’s 2010 Volkswagon Golf, heading south on Route 1, blew through a red light at the intersection.

Anyone with information about the crash should call Edison Police Lt. Dominick Masi at 732-248-7400 or Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Det. Donald Heck at 732-745-3300.

Prosecutors did not release a police booking photo for Ravita.
