The department said in a news release that the incident happened Friday morning at Sunair Awnings in Jessup. Police say 54-year-old Carlos Urena-Valverde, of Plainfield, was unloading a large pile of poles when the weight shifted and the poles fell on him.

Investigators say Urena-Valverde, who worked for the New Jersey freight company AD Freight Logistics, was pronounced dead at the scene.
