GLEN ROCK — A former police officer who sent sexually explicit texts and nude photos to two teenage girls he was investigating, and who pawned guns that were surrendered to authorities, has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Eric Reamy also must register as a sex offender and will be barred from holding public employment under the sentence imposed Friday.

The 52-year-old Fair Lawn man pleaded guilty in March to child endangerment and failure to make the required disposition of a property.

He spent 27 years on the Glen Rock force, serving as its juvenile officer and leading the detective bureau.

Reamy admitted sending the teens suggestive texts and naked photos.

After his arrest for sexting, he was busted again on charges that he sold seven guns that had been turned over to the department for safe keeping or to be destroyed.

In another case in July, a 33-year-old police officer in Morris County was sentenced to two years probation and about $900 in fines after admitting he had nude pictures of a 17-year-old girl from Ohio.
