Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa has invited Muslim leaders and law enforcement officials to a meeting Wednesday in Newark.

Spokesman Paul Loriquet says the first task force meeting will focus on setting an agenda and schedule and deciding on representatives. Loriquet says they'll aim to convene the group at least once every quarter.

Chiesa established the task force in the wake of revelations that the New York City Police Department was conducting secret surveillance of Muslim businesses, mosques and student groups in New Jersey.

Chiesa said in May his investigation concluded the NYPD did not violate New Jersey laws.
