Nickelodeon announced plans Thursday to resurrect the 1990s animated series "Rocko's Modern Life" for a one-hour TV movie. The series originally ran from 1993 to 1996.

"Rocko's Modern Life" creator Joe Murray will serve as the movie's executive producer. He says in a statement that his characters "still have a lot to say" about modern life in the 21st century.

The announcement comes on the heels of Nick reviving several of its shows from the `90s. The network announced it was bringing back the game show "Legends of the Hidden Temple" as an action-adventure TV movie and the animated series "Hey Arnold!" as a TV movie. Both are set to debut in 2017.
